School of Engineering
The mission of the School of Engineering at Herschel V. Jenkins High School is to provide a stimulating curriculum enriched in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The goal of the program is to produce graduates who are successful in their pursuit of higher education within these fields. We offer honors and accelerated course work in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, foreign language and visual arts, providing a rigorous curriculum and instruction in all subject areas. Parents and students can expect specially trained teachers, smaller class sizes, pairing with students with similar life goals, and college credit without college costs.

Student Success Expo - January 11, 2025
The Student Success Expo will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 10:00-3:00 at the Savannah Civic Center.

Open House
The School of Engineering Choice Program Open House will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 5:00 pm in the H.V. Jenkins High School Auditorium.
There will be two information sessions (5:00 pm and 6:00 pm) with time to tour, meet the faculty, and learn about extracurricular opportunities available.

Eligibility Criteria
Students wishing to apply for the School of Engineering Choice Program must meet minimum requirements, which are reviewed annually.
For the 2025-2026 School Year, students must meet the eligibility criteria to enter the Lottery Process in the areas of:

Students/families wishing to apply to the School of Engineering Choice Program must do so during the SCCPSS Choice Program application window (typically January of each year for the upcoming school year).

The School of Engineering at H.V. Jenkins High School utilizes the Project Lead the Way Engineering curriculum throughout the student's four years of high school.

Program Course Sequence
Students are required to take at least one AP Mathematics and at least one AP Science course prior to graduation. Students are also required to complete all PLTW Engineering courses successfully prior to graduation. All requirements align with Georgia Department of Education and SCCPSS graduation requirements.
